VocaliD's major tradeshow in 2016 was ISAAC, or the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
The booth needed to be outfitted with flyers, business cards, and most importantly, a attractive banner that doubled as an activity.
Fill a tradeshow booth with materials for possible customers.
There needed to be materials that would draw people into the booth, keep them occupied if all the booth workers were busy, and beautiful take-home flyers that people would think twice about before throwing away. I was responsible for the design, printing, delivery, layout, and assembly of all the elements in the booth.
A basic informational flyer, as well as product-specific flyers were produced to hand out to possible customers.
VocaliD has a taxonomy of 16 "VoiceTypes" that anyone's voice can be categorized into. For the activity at the booth, people would record their voice and a MATLAB program classified their voice as "cocoa", "candy", "motorcycle", etc, based on the pitch, loudness, modality, and breathiness. Then the person would place a sticker on the map that best represented their accent and another sticker to keep count of how many people fit into which voicetype.
